Teen Fitness
Teen fitness is becoming more and more important because we as Americans are becoming less and less healthy and increasingly overweight and obese at an alarming rate. If you're a teenager, incorporating fun fitness activities into every day life, starting at a young age, will build a strong fitness foundation for you to build upon. Many of the habits - good and bad - developed during your teen years will be carried on throughout your entire lifespan, so developing good fitness habits and a well-rounded teen physical fitness plan at a this age is really important. Unfortunately, studies show that there is typically a decline in fitness levels from the age of thirteen to the age of eighteen. This is due in large part to our sedentary lifestyle - way too much time spent using the computer, watching television and playing video games. Many teenagers also choose not to participate in organized sports activities, which adds to that sedentary lifestyle. Here are some great fitness tips for teens to get you started. So if you don't want to take up a sport, how do you go about getting fit? A good step in the right direction is to join a gym or health club. If you join a full-service club, you'll have access to all kinds of classes and activities that might spark an interest. You could also join a no-frills, more inexpensive gym, such as Snap Fitness or Anytime Fitness. These clubs have basic weight and cardio equipment, but no classes.
