Fitness Motivation
Fitness motivation can be hard to find. Trust me, I've searched for it for years! But you've taken that big first step to a healthier lifestyle by decided to get into shape. You're probably a little nervous, but excited! Great - now how do you keep that excitement going as you start getting into shape? I'm not going to kid you - it can be really hard to stick with a fitness plan. It takes time and dedication to transform your life, but you don't need to go it alone. First of all, come back to this website for a dose of fitness motivation whenever you need it. Then check out some of the ideas below that will offer you the fitness motivation and support that you need to be successful. Whether it's trying hypnosis or meditation, finding a personal trainer, or creating a vision board, you're sure to find a way to stay motivated. Exercise Motivation: Very few people think of exercise as “fun,” so finding exercise motivation might not be easy. However, there are activities out there that can be very enjoyable. Take your dog for daily walks – you’ll both be getting exercise and fresh air. Dance in your kitchen when you’re making healthy meals - in this case it’s ok to play with your food! Try your hand at a sport you’ve always thought might be fun. If you enjoy your exercise, it's easier to stay motivated.

Personal Trainer: Personal trainers are an excellent source of fitness motivation. A personal trainer’s job is to offer fitness advice and help you achieve overall fitness, as well as working on those trouble areas that need a little extra work. Perhaps the “old lady arms” won’t tone up, or your belly just never seems to flatten. Personal trainers can give you the right combination of exercises to help achieve your goals.Workout Motivation: What’s your workout motivation? Do you go to the gym and end up chatting instead of sweating? Is that piece of exercise equipment in your cellar getting dusty? For diet and exercise plans to work you have to find a way to motivate yourself for working out regularly. Maybe it will be hanging that little black dress right in front of the refrigerator, or the tight fitting jeans adjacent to the treadmill. Whatever you do – find out what spurs you to keep on moving! Workout Buddy: A lot of times it helps to have a workout buddy with whom to commiserate. On days when you feel you just can’t do that extra five minutes, your buddy can be there to say “Hey, come on!” Workout buddies become partners in getting healthy and staying that way. They don’t let each other give up or wimp out.

Workout Journal: A workout journal is a wonderful addition to a healthy lifestyle because you can look at it any time and see your progress. On the first page, your energy is low, your waist is big, and your self confidence is probably sagging a little. Twenty pages later, however, you’re reading about a different person – one who feels better and looks better. Your journal is also a great place to vent when you plateau or get frustrated with your progress. Keep on writing! Photo Journal: When you’re dieting and feel like nothing has changed, a picture can really be worth a thousand words. For a quick dose of fitness motivation, begin your diet by taking several pictures of yourself from all sides (your workout buddy comes in handy at this point!), and take some measurements while you're at it. Then every two weeks repeat this process. When you see with your own eyes how your body’s changing, it’s a huge pick-me-up and motivator to keep going! Vision Board: The eyes have it! A vision board is a motivational tool that can be used for any of your goals. In this case, create one for yourself that inspires you to stick to healthy choices. What goes on the board is really up to you – but it needs to be meaningful. Also, keep your vision board where you can see it every day so it will do the most good.

Motivating Quotations: The pen is mightier than the sword, and motivating quotations can be a powerful force that keeps you firmly on the path to wellness. There are all kinds of motivational quote sites on the internet to which you can turn for ideas. Or, pick up a favorite book and look for quotes from beloved characters. Let words become a new tool in your healthy living kit. Diet Motivation: Are you trying to find diet motivation? Stop for a minute and do a self-check. How’s your energy? Do you get winded just walking down the block? Are you having to get larger, elasticized clothing to hide the extra pounds? Is your health waning? If you answered yes to any of these, then you have a very good reason to motivate yourself to start on a diet. Remember, a diet need not be excruciating – think lifestyle change, and start your journey by saying YES to a healthier you.
Hypnosis and Weight Loss: Hypnosis has been around for over a hundred years, and its role in helping people with weight loss is becoming increasingly popular. Most people don't realize the role that the subconscious mind plays in establishing and maintaining their weight. A trained hypnotherapist can help you bring your conscious and subconscious minds into alignment, which will create permanent changes from the inside out. Self Hypnosis for Weight Loss: If you're not comfortable working with a hypnotherapist, you might want to give self hypnosis a try. Self hypnosis can become another supportive tool in your overall goal of getting fit and trim. Basically you’ll begin to re-program the way you think about food and exercise, so that staying on track with your fitness program becomes easier. There are lots of self hypnosis CDs and downloads available that are targeted toward weight loss and that really work. In the privacy of your own home, on a schedule and routine that’s comfortable for you, just sit back, relax, and let your subconscious mind go to work for you. Daily Motivation: Good nutrition and fitness require daily motivation. Humans are creatures of habit, so making a good diet and exercise part of our daily routine helps keep us motivated. At first it might seem hard to get up early and work out, but if you give it just one week – you’ll soon find you’re looking forward to that time that’s specifically for YOU. The key here is to be patient. You didn’t get out of shape over night, and you won’t look 20 again overnight either. However, finding ways to keep yourself motivated daily will help you succeed. Motivation Tips: When your get up and go got-up-and-went you probably started looking around for motivation tips. There are all kinds of ways to keep yourself focused on healthy living. Some people “think of the kids” (for example). Others just want to feel and look better for those skimpy summer shorts. Whatever your situation, you’ll find great motivation right in your own mirror when you stick to it! What are your fitness motivation tips for working out and eating right?
