Calorie Tracker
Calorie Tracker ($2.99) is by LIVESTRONG.COM and was developed in partnership with the Lance Armstrong Foundation. It works in conjunction with thedailyplate.com.
I'm not a big fan of calorie and nutrition tracker apps because no one iPod app ever covers all the bases. Either an app has great data but isn't easy to use, or it's got a great interface but is limited in its scope. Unfortunately, this app is no exception. While it has an amazing database of food items - it features over 525,000 food and menu items, compared to less than 10,000 for most apps - there is no way to manually enter your own food items. And if you cook a lot, you have to enter each ingredient individually, which can be time consuming. There have been a number of bugs with iPod Touch apps, and this app is no exception, although the majority seem to have been fixed in the latest version. If you eat fairly simple foods and don't cook a lot of your meals from scratch, this app might be for you.
